The one pictured is so clever. Using the data on a user account on Last.fm it creates this graph grouping similar artists. Labels show a history of music listening over time so you can track how your tastes have changed etc. It's very pretty too.

Writing my letter to Santa recently sent me on a journey through so many cool books, too many to afford to buy. The image is a condensed version of my wishlist :)

Book By Its Cover has a really cute selection. Designer's Review of Books is new but already quite helpful. YouWorkForThem has a great selection. Gestalten is great because it shows you lots of page previews. Although, you can always walk in to Magma to have a proper flick through, got lost in there for over an hour the other day.

Amazon and Abebooks are still the cheapest to buy from.

Design Observer made a list of all the books they've recently received but I was a bit dissapointed that they made no effort to review them, or do just assume that all the books on the list are gold?!

Fun with Vintage Photos

Everybody loves the oldie worldy mysterious charm of a found vintage photo. The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players have even gone on to make an entire performance out of vintage photos they pick up at car-boot sales. Some might think they are just too twee but I think they're fun.

I can't believe I just discovered this artist now. I saw some amazing pieces of his in the Moma New York and fell in love.

Rauschenberg died in May of this year so there is a photographic tribute to his life temporarily exhibiting in the Guggenheim Museum, New York.

As I am relatively new as an inhabitant of this wonderful city that is London I am still constantly amused by many of the street names. Threadneedle St, Frying Pan Alley, Buckfast St, Fashion St, Cock Lane, Friday St, Knightrider St, Cumming St, Bacon St, Pudding Lane, Prince of Wales Passage, Ha-ha Rd...and all you need to do is look up the A-Z index for your name and you are sure to find your own personal st...I have done for all my friends but sadly no stephanie st exists :(
Although I wouldn't be surprised to find a wheres me jumper st or holy crap im completely lost st or upside down wrong way round st.

Francis Bacon Exhibition

Tate Britain, 11th September - 4th January.

I've always been a fan of the work of Francis Bacon but ever since I visited his studio at the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin I've become increasingly compelled by the man behind these amazing triptychs. The recreated studio is fascinating. Every single part of it was taken from London to Dublin and reassembled exactly how it was originally. The exhibition there also gives a very good insight into the artist's life.

I can't wait for this exhibition in the Tate.
